There was a royal debut at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and it added a wild element to the famous event.
Lady Amelia Windsor, 43rd in line to the throne, displayed a wildflower garden at Chelsea for 2024.
Working with Kent Wildflower Seeds, Lady Amelia has designed a special plot focused on rustic blooms including ragged robin and common toadflax.
She collaborated with garden guru, Tabi Jackson Gee, on the creation. It’s the first time a wildflower nursery has exhibited in the Great Pavilion at RHS Chelsea.

Arriving to showcase her display, the model and writer chose a gingham print maxi dress with white trainers, a perfect combo on a hot and sunny day.
Ahead of the garden opening, she took to Instagram to say she was ”excited and honoured” to be part of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show which will welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors between May 21 and May 25 2024.
Lady Amelia follows a long line of royals who have had a hand in designing a garden at the show.
In 2019, the Princess of Wales created the ‘Back to Nature’ display alongside landscape architects, Davies White. It showcased Catherine’s love of the outdoors and her belief in the positive impact that nature has on mental and physical health.
The power of plants was also at the heart of a garden designed in 2002 by King Charles, when he was still heir to the throne. That creation, worked on alongside landscaper Jinny Blom, took inspiration from traditional medical plots and was called the ‘Healing Garden’.
Prince Harry also commissioned a garden in support of his charity, Sentebale, which was displayed at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
