Princess Madeleine and her family return to Sweden in time for important National Day

Princess Madeleine and her family have returned to Sweden for an important National Day celebration.

This year marks 500 years of Sweden being a country, and the Princess Family made sure to return home in time for the celebrations.

Princess Madeleine posted a photo of her, her husband, Chris O’Neill, and their three children, Princesses Leonore and Adrienne and Prince Nicolas, in their national dress ahead of the celebrations. She wished everyone a happy National Day in her post.

Their role in this year’s National Day isn’t until later in the evening when the Royal Family takes a horse-drawn carriage ride from the Royal Palace to Skansen Museum for the celebrations that are aired live on Swedish national television. This will be the first year Princess Adrienne takes part in the holiday publicly.

After the celebrations at Skansen, the Royal Family will host a reception at the Nordic Museum. As this year is monumental in the history of Sweden, the reception has been moved from the Royal Palace in Stockholm to the Nordic Museum. Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill will participate in this event that closes the national holiday celebrations.

It was announced a few months ago that Madeleine, Chris, Leonore, Nicolas and Adrienne would move from Florida back to Sweden in the autumn.
