Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar send Christmas greetings

Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar of Sweden have sent their annual video Christmas greetings.

The two children of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel usually appear with their parents for a family video, but this year, the pair appeared on their own in the Royal Chapel of Stockholm Palace for the Fourth Sunday of Advent.

The siblings held hands as they entered the church before Princess Estelle, 9, read the Christmas lyrics to the Christmas song “När det lider mot jul” by Jeanna Oterdahl. Prince Oscar, 5, then lit the final candle for Advent.

Before the King’s Life Guard played music by Ruben Liljefors, the royal siblings told the camera, “God Jul,” meaning “Merry Christmas,” in English.

This is the second Christmas photo released by the Royal Court of the Crown Princess’s children this holiday season. On St Lucia Day, a photo was posted to Instagram of Princess Estelle dressed as Lucia and Prince Oscar dressed as Father Christmas to mark the special day.

The Royal Family marked the four Sundays of Advent last year by releasing photos and videos each day of each branch of the family lighting a candle, as the family could not celebrate together due to the global health crisis.

Christmas celebrations with the Royal Family continue this week. On 20 December, Princess Madeleine and her children will accept the Christmas trees at the Royal Palace, and King Carl XVI Gustaf will deliver his annual Christmas address on Christmas Day.
