Prince Daniel sheds light on European economic cooperation

Business Europe is the European umbrella organization for business and employer organisations. Prince Daniel of Sweden has attended a dinner organised by them to highlight their work.

The dinner was held in Stockholm City Hall with the board of The Confederation of European Business. The prince was welcomed to the City Hall by Business Europe’s chairman Fredrik Persson and Swedish Business Association’s chairman Jacob Wallenberg.

During the dinner His Royal Highness gave a speech, in which he said: “At a time when different crises are darkening the skies over Europe and European businesses, it is certainly important to be able to meet like this, to discuss common challenges and possible solutions. Ladies and gentlemen, Sweden is a prosperous country. But it hasn’t always been that way. Having once been one of Europe’s poorest countries, entrepreneurship and trade took us from poverty to prosperity.”

Prince Daniel of Sweden is known for his strong support of business and entrepreneurship.

Prince Daniel continued: “Today, Sweden is an export-oriented economy and a frontrunner in the global green transition. Openness to trade. Openness to people. Openness to ideas. Paired with entrepreneurship, openness transforms societies. And I believe it is critical for the future that organizations such as yours keep championing these values.”

Business Europe was founded in 1958 and represents 40 national employer organizations from 35 European countries, of which 27 are EU members. The organization is currently headed by Swedish born Fredrik Persson.
