Prince Daniel congratulates entrepreneurs on special anniversary

Prince Daniel speaks at Framfor2021

Prince Daniel was the keynote speaker at the digital event “FramFör”. The event is a collaboration concept between local companies and students in Gästrikland, a region of Sweden. The collaboration celebrates this year their 20th anniversary and His Royal Highness wanted to congratulate them on their good work.

The University of Gävle, municipalities in Gästrikland and business organizations have for 20 years created meetings between students and companies through the concept “FramFör”. Among other things, it has contributed to research and knowledge about what makes companies successful. To celebrate the 20th anniversary, FramFör set up a seminar on collaboration between companies, municipalities and academia.

In a video-statement Prince Daniel said: “Entrepreneurship, innovation and openness to the world, has been and still is the central success factor for our country. In addition, what we must never forget is how dependent we as a country are that there are individuals like you. Business owners, current or future, who dare to believe in their own idea. Moreover, who are ready to work very, very hard to make those ideas come true. This courage and willingness should have been classified as a natural resource. For it is in fact what has built our country and will continue to do so in the future.”

Prince Daniel has always been very involved in entrepreneurship and worked to make it easier to be an entrepreneur in Sweden. This is a passion he shares with Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and the two have therefore collaborated several times to shed light on important entrepreneurship. In 2018 Prince Daniel also teamed up with Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands to highlight entrepreneurship. In 2017 Prince Daniel visited Amsterdam to attend the seminar “Startup Summit Sweden-Netherlands”.

The Prince Daniel Fellowship was launched in January 2013 as a long-term collaboration between the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences and Prince Daniel. Its aims are to inspire young people to become entrepreneurs and to support a number of companies through mentorship.
