Crown Princess Victoria’s Name Day celebrations get back to normal

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden has marked her Name Day at the Royal Palace.

The Crown Princess was able to celebrate her name day, on 12 March, with the public for the first time since the global health crisis began two years ago.

Victoria was joined by her husband, Prince Daniel and their two children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, in the Royal Palace’s Inner Courtyard where they greeted the public and met representatives from the Armed Forces.

The Army’s music corps performed several songs, including “Queen Victoria’s presentation march” and the “Life Regiment’s grenadiers’ march.”

Normally, Crown Princess Victoria accepts flowers and gifts from the public who came to the Royal Palace. However, due to the ongoing global health crisis, the Royal Court announced she would not be accepting gifts at this year’s event.

She did receive flowers from the Armed Forces during the ceremony, and afterwards, a representative from the Victoria Battalion from the Stockholm Amphibious Regiment presented her with a book about the battalion’s activities. He also gave Estelle and Oscar berets that the battalion members wear.
