Crown Prince Couple of Norway’s trip to Sweden has new date

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette Marit of Norway’s visit to Sweden has a new date.

Due to the global health crisis, the visit has been postponed several times, but now a new date has been set for the royal visit. Their Royal Highnesses will pay an official visit to Sweden from 2 to 4 May of this year.

The Norweigan Royal Court said: “The visit will mark the close and good neighbourly relations between Norway and Sweden and between the two royal houses. Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will host the visit. The Norwegian Crown Prince and Crown Princess will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt and Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre. The visit starts with two days in Stockholm and ends in Gothenburg.

“The visit will contribute to strengthening the close business cooperation between Norway and Sweden, and emphasis will be placed on the fact that tomorrow’s value creation must be sustainable and knowledge-based. Joining the trip is a Norwegian business delegation, which will meet its Swedish partners at several business events in both Stockholm and Gothenburg.”

The short tour will cover several topics, including “green industrial development, such as clean energy, smart mobility, climate-friendly buildings and sustainable agriculture, as well as health and life sciences. Ocean, environment and health will be on the agenda during visits to research environments in Stockholm and Gothenburg.”

The Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Norway will also promote their culture and creative industries.

Visits to cultural institutions in Stockholm and the SPACE-centre are on the agenda, as is the participation in a meeting for Swedish and Norwegian children and young people’s literature. The royals will also travel to Fryshuset in Stockholm to see the wide range of services for young people.
