Cinderella takes centre stage for Crown Princess Family of Sweden’s annual Christmas video

The Crown Princess Family of Sweden has released their annual Christmas video greeting to the public.

This year, the video centres around the family’s visit to Stockholm’s Royal Opera to see Cinderella.

Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar met opera employees ahead of the performance, including costume designer Michael Glas and Luiza Lopez and Jonatan Davidsson from the Royal Ballet.

Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar even got the opportunity to try on some of the costumes, and Crown Princess Victoria teased her son with one of the hats from the costume archives.

A video of the family’s visit to the opera was released by the Royal Court, along with several photos. Princess Estelle was especially interested in the costume worn by Cinderella in the opera and even tried on ballet shoes. Meanwhile, Prince Oscar tried on a military hat and said, “God Jul” (Happy Christmas) in the mirror. Later, Crown Princess Victoria is seen trying on a costume and even a golden hat.

The Crown Princess called Estelle “a Christmas cracker” for her appearance in one of the costumes as the 10-year-old smiled at the camera before Prince Daniel joined in on the fun in a costume.

While discussing the ballet with Lopez and Davidsson, Princess Estelle showed off her fluent English skills while conversing with the ballerina.

Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, 6, conclude the video by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

The Crown Princess Family of Sweden releases a video each year to the public to wish them a Merry Christmas (or God Jul as they say in Swedish), and it has turned into one of the most anticipated and enjoyed moments each year by royal watchers.

The Royal Opera will turn 250 years old next year, and the Royal Family will attend events throughout the year to celebrate the milestone.
