Crown Princess Katherine donates large sum to Serbian school

The Crown Princess Katherine Foundation has donated computer equipment to the School for Elementary and Highschool Education “Vukasin Markovic” in Kragujevac, Serbia. This aid will help students study and allow teachers to have better devices to support their work.

The new computer equipment donated consists of six desktops and two laptop computers, one projector with a screen, and one printer with appropriate papers and inks. The aim is to support school children during and after the global health crisis. The donation is made possible by the Chicago Lifeline Humanitarian Organization, of which Crown Princess Katherine is patron.

During the handover of the equipment, the following message from Her Royal Highness was released: “I am very happy to say that we were able to support the children and the school and that we implemented another important project. We owe exceptional gratitude to Mr Avery Stirratt and Mrs Nada Cemovich Stirratt, and the Humanitarian Organization Lifeline in Chicago for their unconditional help and the love they have in their hearts. And also for their willingness to share that love with others. It is very important for all of us that we always do our best to support our children and to provide them good conditions for learning and a better childhood.”

The principal of the Vukasin Markovic School for Primary and Secondary Education, Tatjana Simic, said: “We thank Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine, the Lifeline Humanitarian Organization of Chicago and Mr and Mrs Stirratt for donating us the computer equipment. We shall use the computers to improve the teaching process at our school. In fact, they will be used by the students, so that their learning process is made easier through educational content.”

In 1993, Crown Princess Katherine founded the Lifeline Humanitarian Organisation, which currently has offices in Chicago, New York, Toronto, London and Athens. This organisation, together with the HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation, works to collect money for medical equipment that has been delivered to numerous hospitals in Serbia.
