New pictures of Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway have been released ahead of her 18th birthday on Friday, 21 January.
The Princess is pictured in her new office inside the Royal Palace in Oslo.
The Royal Court announced that Ingrid Alexandra now has an office space in the Royal Palace and will “carry out an increasing number of official tasks for the Royal Family.”
However, they also stressed that she would primarily focus on education in the coming years. No information has yet been released on her university plans.
Princess Ingrid Alexandra currently attends Elvebakken Upper Secondary School in Oslo.
The Princess is set to visit the Storting (Norwegian parliament), Supreme Court and the Prime Minister on the day before her birthday. On the day she comes of age, she will receive congratulations from various members of the government, judiciary and diplomatic corps alongside her parents.
Ingrid Alexandra is second in line to the Norwegian throne behind her father, Crown Prince Haakon. Her grandfather, King Harald, is currently the monarch.
If she ascends the throne as expected, she will be Norway’s second female monarch – the first being Queen Margaret of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, who reigned from 1387 to 1412.
