Grand Duchess of Luxembourg gets her own Twitter account

Luxembourg’s Grand Duchess Maria Teresa now has her own Twitter account.

Her handle is @MariaTeresa_Lux. You can follow her here. The official account of the Grand Ducal Court can be found at @CourGrandDucale.

The Grand Ducal Court confirmed that the account is the account of the Grand Duchess to Royal Central. She will run the account personally alongside her team.

The Twitter account is not yet verified as Twitter took away the option to submit requests to have accounts verified by users.

The Grand Duchess also has her own website independent from the Grand Ducal Court where she shares her work. It went online in November 2018. It can be found at https://www.grande-duchesse.lu/.

The website is to shine a light on her dedicated work and commitments. The Grand Ducal Court said in a press release in 2018, “Whether in the humanitarian or social field, the Grand Duchess strives to support the poor, to give a voice to those who are not heard or listened to, point to injustices and draw attention to problems in society often ignored.”

It was launched ahead of the forum “Stand, Speak, Rise” – aimed at ending sexual violence – which Her Royal Highness organised in Luxembourg. The conference took place on 26 and 27 March 2019.
