New official portraits of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary have been released to mark Crown Princess Mary’s 50th birthday on 5 February.
The new images show the Crown Prince Couple in their gala wear. They were taken by Hasse Nielsen at their home in Amalienborg Palace Complex’s Frederik VIII’s Palace.
Two photos were released of the couple together, one of which is in black and white. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess each have two solo images.
The Crown Princess is seen in a blue lace sparkling gown by Lasse Spangenberg. She is also wearing the Ruby Parure Tiara with the earrings, bracelet, brooch and ring from the same parure.
Crown Prince Frederik is seen wearing his dress military uniform.
Crown Princess Mary will mark her birthday on 5 February privately with family.
Crown Princess Mary’s 50th birthday is being celebrated in Denmark in early February. Due to the ongoing global health situation, Queen Margrethe and Crown Princess Mary chose to cancel the gala dinner planned in celebration. A birthday celebration with the Mary Foundation has been postponed to a later date, which will be announced in due course.
A television programme about Mary, “Mary 50 – we celebrate Denmark’s Crown Princess,” will air on TV2 on 6 February at 20:00 local time.
