Queen Elizabeth II

A look ahead at The Queen’s June birthday celebrations

There is no one who can celebrate their birthday quite like Her Majesty The Queen. She so far has celebrated her actual birthday on April 21 where she lit the first of close to 1000 beacons across the country. Next came the weekend of birthday celebrations that ended in a spectacular 900 horse and 1,500 participant show at Windsor Castle  that The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall along with most of the senior members of the Royal Family attended.

In just less than two weeks time, the final part of Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday celebrations will come to an end.

On 10 June, The Queen, along with The Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the Royal Family will be in attendance for The National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral. From there The Queen. Prince Philip, Prince Charles and The Duchess of Cornwall will be hosting a lunch at Buckingham Palace for the visiting Governor-Generals. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with other Royal Family members will be hosted with special guests at the Guildhall.

Easily one the of The Queen’s birthday events that most look forward to is The Queen’s Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping The Colour. Trooping The Colour will take place on 11 June where The Queen’s Colour of Number 7 Company Coldstream Guards will be trooped in front of Her Majesty, The Duke of Edinburgh and many other members of the Royal Family.

Following the parade, The Queen will ride in her carriage at the head of The Queen’s Guard back to Buckingham Palace. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, and other senior family members will make an appearance on the balcony to watch a fly-past of Royal Air Force aircrafts.

To end the weekend of celebrations, The Patron’s Lunch: A Celebration of The Queen’s Patronages will be held on The Mall on 12 June which is being planned by Queen Elizabeth’s grandson Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne. The Queen, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry are all expected to attend the Patron’s Lunch joining the other 10,000 guests.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall will be joining in on a regional lunch in honour of all the birthday celebrations that are taking place across the nation.

And with that, The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations will come to a close. We look forward to her 100th birthday party!
