Prince William speaks of plans to visit Australia

The Royal Wedding of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. While speaking to members of the public and reporters at the Anglesey Show yesterday, His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge mentioned his intentions to make an official visit to Australia in 2014 with his wife The Duchess of Cambridge and their new son Prince George.

When asked a question by Max and Maxine Davies from Victor Harbor near Adelaide the Prince said:

We are all very hopeful of coming to Australia next year

Prince William himself has just finished his last tour with the RAF and is now planning on moving into a Kensington Palace apartment with The Duchess of Cambridge and their newborn son Prince George. The couple was living in Anglesey since 2010 and up until just before their child was born.

Prince William himself has made a number of visits to Australia but The Duchess of Cambridge has not made a visit in any official capacity. If the tour was to go ahead it would mirror the 1983 tour that Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales made with a baby Prince William in their arms. The tour was a six week long one which went throughout both Australia and New Zealand leading commentators to speculate that the young family could also visit the smaller nation of New Zealand while down under.

Since the comments were made by His Royal Highness a number of national (Australian) and international media organisations have reported the story giving hope to royal watchers in both Australia and New Zealand that a glimpse of Their Royal Highnesses could be coming up sooner than initially thought.

Of course these plans have yet to be officially confirmed and/or released by palace officials so there are no solid details to report. Such details will be posted if and when released by official sources.
