Zara Tindall shocked as her husband reveals an unexpected nickname for Prince William

They’ve always seemed to get on well but Mike Tindall is now worried that the Prince of Wales might want a word or three after a revelation in a podcast.

Speaking to Seven: Rob Burrow, Mike let slip a nickname he has for the heir to the throne and immediately apologised.

As he chatted to rugby league legend, Rob Burrow, Mike revealed that the future king is known as ”One-Pint Willy” because he’s not a big drinker.

The former rugby union player said that his own sport was ”built on the social aspect with a couple of beers being sunk quite often” but noted that ”The Prince of Wales is known to me as One Pint Willy because he’s not the best of drinkers.”

Almost straight away afterwards he said ”sorry, sir”. However, his surprise at his revelation was nothing compared to that of his wife, Zara Tindall, who was also taking part in the chat.

When her husband shared his secret name for the future king, Zara said ”you’re in so much trouble!”

The Tindalls were due to meet the Prince of Wales at the pre Christmas lunch held by King Charles for the Royal Family at Windsor Castle on December 20th 2023, the day the podcast was released. They’ll also be sharing one pint, or possibly two, on Christmas Day as they’re all set to be at Sandringham with the Monarch.

Seven: Rob Burrow sees the star interview sports stars who each answer seven questions. Rob Burrow has Motor Neurone Disease and uses AI and eye gaze technology to make the podcasts which are also hosted by his wife, Lindsey.

You can listen to the whole podcast on BBC Sounds.
