The Princess of Wales is to host another Christmas Carol service at Westminster Abbey.
The ceremony, just days before Christmas Day, will feature music and readings and follows the success of the festive celebration she held at the Abbey in 2021.
Then, a piano performance from the Princess went viral on social media after she performed ‘For Those Who Can’t Be Here’ with Tom Walker during the service.
The first carol service was inspired by a desire to say ‘thank you’ to all those who had supported others during the pandemic. This year’s celebration takes a similar theme, recognising the efforts of individuals and communities across the UK to help and bring people together.
This year’s event will also pay special tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and the values she showed throughout her long life and reign. Representatives from organisations associated with Her Late Majesty will be in the congregation.
Guests will also include charity workers and grassroots community volunteers as well as members of the Armed Forces and frontline workers. Those in attendance will be nominated by Lord Lieutenants from around the UK.
The Princess of Wales and the Royal Foundation will organise the concert which will take place in the Abbey on December 15th 2022.
It will also be recorded and, as with the first of the Princess of Wales’ Christmas services, it will be broadcast on Christmas Eve on ITV.
