The Princess of Wales gets behind the lens for Princess Charlotte’s birthday photo

The Princess of Wales has gotten back behind the lens for her daughter’s eighth birthday photo.

Kensington Palace released a new photo of Princess Charlotte ahead of her eighth birthday on 2 May that was taken by Catherine this past weekend in Windsor.

On social media, the palace said: “Wishing Princess Charlotte a very happy birthday! 8 tomorrow.”

Charlotte’s birthday comes just a few days before her grandfather, King Charles III’s Coronation at Westminster Abbey on 6 May, which the young royal is expected to attend.

Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was born on 2 May 2015 at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London as the second child and only daughter of the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

She is third in line to the throne, following her father, the Prince of Wales, and elder brother, Prince George.

Charlotte attends Lambrook School alongside her brothers, George (9) and Louis (5).
