Prince & Princess of Wales

The Prince and Princess of Wales are heading to Wales and there’s cooking involved

The national day of Wales is always an important moment and the Royal Family is already gearing up to mark it. The Prince and Princess of Wales will be in Pontypridd as St. David’s Day beckons and there’s cooking involved.

There’s also a serious side to this latest trip to Wales as the couple will be meeting Pontypridd communities that have been affected by flooding following Storm Bert in November 2024 and Storm Darragh in December 2024.

It will be the second trip in just two months to Wales for Catherine. The Princess was at TÅ· Hafan, the children’s hospital in south Wales at the end of January to see the support and care given to young people with life limiting illnesses and their families.

The latest visit marks St. David’s Day, the national day of Wales. There will be some fun on offer too, as William and Catherine will be stopping by The Welsh Cake Shop to make Welsh cakes, a traditional, griddle-cooked crumbly bread that has dried fruit.

They will also be visiting a local cafe and a garden centre in the community.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’s visit to Wales is always an exciting prospect; however, the announcement itself has marked a change. Over the last year, news of the Princess of Wales’s engagements have often been kept to the last minute as she continued her treatment for cancer and her recovery. Catherine confirmed at the start of 2025 that she is now in remission. .

However, this engagement was not embargoed and the press was able to share it ahead of the visit. This is surely a positive sign for the Princess of Wales.
