The Duchess of Cambridge has taken to Instagram for her first personal post. She shared some of her favourite photos of the time she spent at a children’s charity in Lahore in the message which was signed ‘Catherine’.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s post focused on SOS Children’s Village in Lahore. Along with the Duke of Cambridge, Kate visited the organisation as part of their official tour itinerary but when their return to Islamabad was delayed, the couple returned to the charity to spend more time with the young people it’s helping as the duchess’ request.
Now Kate has opened up about her time there with a series of snaps as well as a personal message. She writes of the importance of family for the organisation and praises those who work there for their determination to ”nurture, love and protect the children in their care”. The duchess also talks about the impact this work has on children, saying ”these vulnerable children, many who have come through traumatic circumstances, are nurtured in this caring environment and are able to form these quality relationships that they so desperately need to thrive.”
The message was shared on the Kensington Royal Instagram page on Sunday morning and added to the official Twitter feed later. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Pakistan between 14th and 18th October 2019.
