The Duchess of Cambridge’s charities and patronages join the birthday party

The Duchess of Cambridge celebrated her 40th birthday on Sunday and was treated to well wishes from people all over the world, including her patronages and organisations associated with her. Let’s take a look at what they tweeted.

The 1851 Trust, which works to encourage young people to pursue STEM careers through the science and technology of sailing, tweeted to Kate: “Thank you for your ongoing support to inspire the next generation of problem solvers.”

The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families tweeted: “Thank you for your unflinching commitment to children and family mental health as well as your continued and invaluable support for our work.”

In an article on the Centre’s website, its Chair—Michael Samuel—and Chief Executive—Professor Peter Fonagy—wrote, ““We are privileged to have The Duchess of Cambridge as our Patron. Her commitment to children and family mental health is unflinching and the interest she generates has encouraged many to talk openly about their experiences. But that alone does not account for her remarkable achievements. She has immersed herself in our work and communicates her understanding of it effortlessly to the wider world. Her commitment to mental health has been extraordinary in its consistency and impact.”

Taking Action on Addiction, a programme by the Forward Trust, tweeted: “Happy Birthday to our longstanding supporter and @ForwardTrust patron HRH The Duchess of Cambridge who turns 40 today! Thank you for all your vital work to support those struggling with addiction.”

SportsAid tweeted: “Thank you for being so supportive of our work and shining a brighter light on the achievements and potential of the next generation of British athletes.”

The National Portrait Gallery, which will display Kate’s three official birthday portraits, tweeted: “We’re wishing HRH The Duchess of Cambridge a wonderful birthday. To celebrate this day, we are pleased to announce that these three new portraits of The Duchess, taken by Paolo Roversi, have entered our Collection.”

Family Action sent its birthday wishes with a special video of pre-schoolers singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Kate: “Children from Peterborough Pre-Schools took the time to serenade The Duchess on this happy occasion!”

The Natural History Museum tweeted: “We are incredibly grateful for her ongoing support and to be working with her, engaging young people in the importance of protecting nature through our upcoming Urban Nature Project.”

Place2Be, one of Kate’s earliest patronages, tweeted: “Thank you for your ongoing commitment to improving the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people.”

The Victoria & Albert Museum tweeted: “As Royal Patron of the V&A we thank her for her continued support, championing of youth creativity & early years development, and celebration of art & design.”

The Royal Air Force Cadets tweeted: “The Royal Air Force Air Cadets would like to give all the best wishes to our Royal Patron and Honorary Air Commandant, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge on her birthday today.”

The Foundling Museum tweeted: “We’d like to say a huge happy 40th birthday to our Patron, HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, and a thank you for all the support you’ve shown us at the Museum.”
