There’s a new book marking the Duchess of Cambridge’s ten years in the Royal Family that focuses on her fashion over the past decade. Containing almost 200 photos, The Duchess of Cambridge A Decade of Modern Royal Style by Bethan Holt takes the reader on a journey of her royal style.
The book covers the Duchess style triumphs and some of her not so popular looks, and it features insight from some of the designers who have designed the clothes that Kate wears and who have benefited from “the Kate Effect.” There’s also an explanation on how her wardrobe is funded in the chapter “Regal Glamour”.
Overall, it is a really good book. There is one chapter dedicated to how Kate channels Diana in her fashion, and I feel like comparisons to Diana put Kate (and Meghan) in an awkward position. Diana was beloved and is dearly missed by her sons, but I don’t think the Duchess purposely picks out an outfit to channel Diana.
Fashion and royal lovers are going to love this book and how they can go back in time to see the Duchess’s fashion from her pre-engagement days to now where her role as a senior member of the Royal Family has put her at the forefront.
