Looking for a new job? The Palace is hiring

Looking for a new job? The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are looking for a new personal assistant. Posted recently on their official website, the permanent role is based at the historic St James’s Palace in London.

The role will be responsible for managing diaries, arranging meetings and assisting with different events attended by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. Duties also include handling phone calls, responding to queries in a timely manner and regularly drafting letters and emails

The Palace is looking for a candidate with previous administrative and personal assistant experience. This includes managing complex diaries, drafting correspondence and having a high level of professionalism and self-motivation. A proactive, flexible approach, as well as strong IT skills, are an asset to the needed organisation and communication skills.

Candidates will have the chance to work with a broad spectrum of people and must be able to develop good working relationships while being able to work collaboratively and constructively. The ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion is essential.

If you’re interested, you’ll need to express interest soon as the application closes on 13 January.

If being a personal assistant isn’t your cup of tea, the Palace is looking to fill a few other vacancies. Among the job opportunities at St James’s Palace, the Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation is looking for a Communications and Events intern. The intern will have the chance to work closely with other members of The Prince’s Accounting for Sustainability Project (A4S) team, as well as transforming financial decision making and inspiring new finance leaders.

While that application closes on 14 January, the Royal Household is sure to have more vacancies in the coming months. For more information or to apply, you can go to the Royal Family’s official website.
