The Royal Family starts to arrive at St. George’s Chapel for the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh

The Royal Family is now gathering at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor for the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh.

Only thirty mourners are allowed at the service owing to coronavirus restrictions. The Duke of Kent and Duke of Gloucester were seen arriving at the Castle, shortly before Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie arrived with their husbands. Mike and Zara Tindall followed them.

The Duchess of Cambridge followed them into the ancient royal residence, shortly before Lady Louise Mountbatten and James, Viscount Severn arrived for the final farewell to Prince Philip.

They were all welcomed by the Dean of Windsor.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s children will walk alongside the specially designed Land Rover which will bear his coffin. That was driving into the castle as the strains of ‘I Vow to Thee, My Country’ rose over the Quadrangle.

Prince Philip died on April 9th 2021 at the age of 99.
