The Royal Family celebrates Father’s Day with special photos

Prince Charles, Prince William

The Royal Family have shared a string of special photos to mark Father’s Day in the UK. The celebration falls on the Duke of Cambridge’s birthday this year.

Clarence House began the Father’s Day celebrations with a series of photos of the Prince of Wales. One showed him with his own father, the Duke of Edinburgh, while the other featured him with his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. The message accompanying the social media posts read ”Whether you are a Father, a Dad, a Daddy or a Pa, wishing you a Happy Father’s Day!”

A few hours later, the official social media of the Prince of Wales added another image of the heir to the throne cuddling his eldest son. The photo, taken by the Duchess of Cambridge last year, was added to celebrate William’s 38th birthday. The official Twitter account of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared the same photo with Father’s Day wishes. A photo of Kate with her own father, Michael Middleton, was also added to the message.

The Royal Family’s account marked Father’s Day with a string of black and white photos of the Duke of Edinburgh with his four children, including a famous image of Prince Philip playing with a young Princess Anne.

And to mark the other royal celebration going on this June 21st, there was an archive photo of the Queen with the Duke of Cambridge and sending birthday wishes to the second in line to the throne.

On Saturday, new photos of William with his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were released to mark the Duke’s birthday. They were taken in June 2020 in Norfolk by the Duchess of Cambridge.
