Luxembourg’s royals have shared an historic, three generations photo. Grand Duke Henri, the current ruler, has posed for the special image alongside the heir to the throne, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, and newborn Prince Charles, the baby who is destined to one day reign in Luxembourg.
The three generations have been photographed in front of a portrait of Henri’s late father, Grand Duke Jean, adding another family touch to the historic image.
Charles, the first child of Guillaume and his wife Stephanie, is seen in a series of photos shared by the Grand Ducal Court. They were taken at the home he shares with his parents, Fischbach Castle.
The little prince, who was born on May 10th 2020, is pictured with Guillaume and Stephanie and in a series of close ups as well as in a sweet portrait of him being cuddled by his proud mother.
Charles Jean Philippe Joseph Marie Guilluame was born at 5.13 am on May 10th at the Grand Duchess Charlotte Maternity Hospital in Luxembourg and was shown to the world for the first time later that day in a video call between his father and his grandparents, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, who were still isolating at the time. He was brought home from hospital by his parents a few days later.
Stephanie and Guillaume have shared several images of their son already. As well as the video call photos, official portraits of the baby prince were taken while he was still in hospital with his mother.
The new parents happily posed for photographers as they took their son home while Charles was also seen in pictures taken by Paris Match magazine recently.
Prince Charles of Luxembourg is second in line to his country’s throne and is expected to one day follow his grandfather and father as ruler of the Grand Duchy.
The new photos have been shared ahead of Luxembourg’s National Day which falls on June 23rd.
