The Queen has joined world leaders at a special reception at the start of the G7 summit in Cornwall.
Her Majesty, accompanied by the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, travelled to the Eden Project on the afternoon of June 11th 2021 for the event which came at the end of the first full day of the meeting.

The Queen also posed for a socially distanced photo with the leaders of the G7 countries – Canada, Germany, France, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United State and Italy as well as EU leaders – in front of the famous domes at the Eden Project. The reception marked the first of several meetings with the US President, Joe Biden, in the coming days. He is set to travel to Windsor to meet his royal host again at the weekend..
Embed from Getty ImagesFollowing the reception, The Queen met local volunteers supporting the Big Lunch project, an annual get together which encourages communities to come together to share fun and food. Along with the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge, Her Majesty thanked them for the support they have given to those in need during the pandemic. At the start of the month, it was announced that the Big Lunch would form an integral part of the special four day celebration marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge hosted G7 leaders and CEOs of major global businesses to discuss how the private sector and governments can combine efforts to tackle climate issues.
Earlier in the day, the Duchess of Cambridge had joined First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, for a visit to a primary school where they discussed early years provision and education.
The Queen will return to Windsor following the Cornish events. She is set to attend Trooping the Colour on June 12th at Windsor Castle.
