“Are you supposed to look as if you are enjoying yourselves?” – The Queen entertains world leaders with cheeky jokes at G7 Summit

The Queen has been entertaining world leaders at the G7 Summit in Cornwall with her humorous quips.

As the politicians and Heads of State gathered for a group photo outside of the Eden Project, The Queen joked: “Are you supposed to look as if you are enjoying it?”

With that, the stony-faced politicians burst out laughing, as the photographers present snapped away to get their money shot.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson replied: “We have been enjoying ourselves, despite appearances.”

The Queen is well known for putting people at ease, and is often seen telling jokes and making quips.

Her Majesty, accompanied by the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, travelled to the Eden Project on the afternoon of June 11th 2021 for the event which came at the end of the first full day of the meeting.

The Royal Family walked through the eco project before greeting UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, and his new wife, Carrie.

Following the reception, The Queen met local volunteers supporting the Big Lunch project, an annual get together which encourages communities to come together to share fun and food. Along with the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge, Her Majesty thanked them for the support they have given to those in need during the pandemic. At the start of the month, it was announced that the Big Lunch would form an integral part of the special four day celebration marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge hosted G7 leaders and CEOs of major global businesses to discuss how the private sector and governments can combine efforts to tackle climate issues.
