Ms Davis to Bahamas Press that the Duchess was ”awesome” and added ”she loved the welcome, at the airport, and she was very happy with the drive, the coastal ride, coming down, the scene route they took with her, she liked all that.”
And she revealed they’d spent quite a while chatting about a range of things including their shared love of London, where the MP lived for a few years.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in the Bahamas on March 24th for the final stop of their Caribbean tour. They had spent the past three days in Jamaica where they had attended a military parade, played football in Trench Town and visited a school.
They also attended a gala dinner given by the Governor General of Jamaica where the Duke of Cambridge gave a speech in which he described slavery as abhorrent. However, William faced some criticism for not apologising for the slave trade. During a meeting with Jamaica’s Prime Minister, the couple were also told that the ongoing debate about the country severing its ties with the Monarchy was likely to lead to it becoming a republic in the near future. The royal visit to Jamaica attracted some protests although their appearances also brought out welcoming crowds.
William and Kate will visit the Bahamas from March 24th until March 26th 2022.
