The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have teamed up to voice a new PSA in support of mental health, which will premiere Monday night.
The commercial, which will debut in full Monday evening on all UK television stations, backs a new campaign, Every Mind Matters, which aims to help everyone manage their own mental health.
A one-minute teaser was released on Sunday night and featured narration from William, Kate, Harry and Meghan.
“Everyone knows that feeling when life gets on top of us,” William begins.
Then, Harry continues, “We feel stressed, low, anxious or have trouble sleeping. We think there is nothing to be done, nothing we can do about it.”
Meghan adds, “But now, there’s a new way to help turn things around. Every Mind Matters will show you simple ways to look after your mental health.”
Finally, Kate says, “It will get you started with a free online plan designed to help you deal with stress, boost your mood, improve your sleep, and feel more in control.”
William finishes the video, saying, “We can all benefit from taking simple steps to look after our mental health.”
Every Mind Matters, per its website, “is here to help you manage and maintain your mental health, as good mental health makes such a difference.”
The programme was developed with mental health experts and is approved by the NHS and looks to show “simple actions and steps we can all take that will help us manage feelings of stress, anxiety, low mood or when we are struggling to get to sleep.”
The website includes tips “on how to get more physical activity, to mindful breathing exercises and advice on how to reframe unhelpful thoughts.”
The Cambridges and Sussexes are supporting Every Mind Matters through the Heads Together Initiative they founded in 2016.
The commercial was produced by Richard Curtis, a prominent British screenwriter and director, and mental health campaigner and co-creator of Comic Relief and Red Nose Day. It will premiere in full Monday night at 8:45 pm in the UK.
