The Duke of Sussex continues his visit to Angola as the tour enters its second half. After an emotional day retracing the footsteps of his mother, Diana, and her work to eradicate landmines, Harry’s diary turns to another important issue. The focus is on maternal and child health. Here’s what to expect from Day Six of the Sussexes in Southern Africa.

Top Flight Meeting

The Duke of Sussex begins his day meeting the President of Angola, Joao Lourenco, at the Presidential Palace in Luanda. He will also meet the country’s First Lady.

Baby Love

The work of First Lady, Ana Afonso Dias, will feature in the second part of Harry’s day. He will visit the Maternity Hospital Lucrecia Paim to see the maternal health project she set up. Called ‘Born Free to Shine’ it focuses on preventing the transmission of HIV/AIDS from mothers to babies.

Time to Move On

Harry then leaves Angola to travel to Malawi for the next stage of his tour. It will be his first official visit to Malawi.

Diary Summary

The date to keep free is September 28th 2019. The events take place in Luanda where the local time is an hour ahead of the UK.

The Duke of Sussex will meet President Lourenco of Angola. The duke will also tour a hospital to see an HIV/ AIDS prevention project set up by the First Lady of Angola.
