Journalist Andrew Morton is releasing a tell-all biography later this month about Prince Harry’s fiancé Meghan Markle.

Andrew Morton is the author behind Diana: Her True Story – In Her Own Words, the best-selling biography published in 1992 that revealed the secret world of Princess Diana.

In his latest book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, Morton is delving into Meghan Markle’s past. In the biography he talks about Ms Markle’s personal life, from her school days to her whirlwind royal romance with Prince Harry.

The book is due for release just weeks before the Royal Wedding that takes place in May. The biography will be making a number of claims about the soon-to-be Royal, some of which have been revealed in an exclusive in The Times Magazine.

One of the main topics in the book is Meghan Markle’s first marriage to Trevor Engelson, a film producer in Hollywood. The pair got married in 2011 but Ms Markle filed for divorce in 2013. Morton claims in his book that this was because they could not make a long-distance relationship work and that she “no longer had the time for mates she had known for years”.

Meghan: A Hollywood Princess also looks at Meghan Markle’s earlier life. Morton writes about how Ms Markle attended pre-school with Scarlett Johansson, the Hollywood actress who portrays Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The book also addresses how Meghan Markle was crowned homecoming queen back in 1998.

The biography makes further claims that during the height of her acting fame, Meghan Markle began to charge up to $20,000 for public appearances, including walking red carpets and Hollywood galas.

Fans of the Royal couple will be pleased to hear that the book discusses their romance in some detail, including the blind date in London that started it all and their first trip as a couple to Botswana. The biography also explains how Meghan Markle apparently rehearsed drinking tea at Rose Tree Cottage in California before meeting The Queen.

Andrew Morton’s book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, is available to buy from the 17th April.
