Prince Harry will undertake two official trips overseas later this year, where he will visit South Africa and Lesotho, as well as the USA.

The 30 year old Prince will visit Washington DC at the end of October where he will attend events in anticipation to the 2016 Invictus Games which will take place in Orlando, Florida.

The Orlando 2016 Invictus Games will take place in May and is an international sporting event for injured and sick Servicemen and women. The Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect of all those who serve their country.

Following the success of the 2014 Games, Prince Harry said he was looking forward to the Orlando Games in a years time.

He will then, shortly after his USA visit, travel to South Africa and Lesotho at the end of November.

Lesotho is often visited by the fifth-in-line to the throne as
his charity, Sentebale, is based there. His stay in the country later this year will be on behalf of the charity where he will officially open their Mamohato Children’s Centre.

The Mamohato Children’s Centre is a newly built flagship facility to serve all of Sentebale’s work with vulnerable children in Lesotho, and will specifically enable Sentebale to support thousands more children living with HIV.

The Prince visited Lesotho in early 2013 where he viewed the land upon which the Centre has been built. He later returned in 2014 to view the building progress.

Prince Harry’s visit to South Africa is at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to carry out an itinerary of events on behalf of the British Government.

The British High Commissioner to South Africa, Judith Macgregor’ said: “I am delighted to be welcoming Prince Harry on an official visit to South Africa and Lesotho later this year. The visit will showcase the wide range of co-operation between our countries as well as offer an excellent platform to further develop the partnerships between the UK and South Africa and Lesotho.”

Prince Harry is currently in Southern Africa, where he is working tirelessly on front line conservation projects. On his return to the UK next month, he will work as a volunteer with the Personnel Recovery Unit of London District. Here he will assist soldiers with their rehabilitation after being wounded or injured in service.

Further details of Prince Harry’s visits to South Africa, Lesotho and the USA will be released by Kensington Palace in due course.
