Commonwealth Day Fashion Through the Years: The Duchess of Sussex

Since her engagement to Prince Harry in 2017, the now Duchess of Sussex has made a frequent appearance at the annual Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey. Her appearances have marked several noteworthy moments in her and the Duke’s life as senior working royals and personal lives.

With the coronavirus cancelling this year’s service and the Duchess no longer a senior working royal, Royal Central is taking a look at the outfits the Duchess has worn to the event over the years.

The 2020 service would mark the Duke and Duchess’s last engagement as senior working members of the Royal Family. In January 2020, the Duke and Duchess announced they would be stepping back and the move would be in effect at the end of March 2020.

Since the 2020 service, the couple relocated to California and have pursued several endeavours including signing a deal with Spotify and Netflix as well as starting their own foundation, Archewell.

The 2019 service would mark one of the Duchess’s last public engagements before going on maternity leave. A few months later, on 6 May, the couple welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
