Sir Tim Laurence sports black eye after ‘gardening incident’

Sir Tim Laurence is suffering from a black eye after a gardening mishap.

The 69-year-old retired Navy officer, who is married to the Princess Royal, was photographed with the injury as he arrived for an engagement in London,

Sir Tim accompanied the Duke of Kent at Westminster Abbey on Monday to attend the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s 200th anniversary celebrations.

Buckingham Palace sources told the Daily Telegraph that Sir Tim was involved in a ‘gardening incident’ involving fencing over the weekend.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution was set up in 1824 and has since saved over 146,000 lives.

Both Sir Tim and the Duke of Kent are closely involved with the organisation, with the duke serving as its President.

The special service gave thanks for all those who have contributed to its work as well as reflecting on the lifesaving service it provides.
