The Queen will attend a mass of commemoration at Crathie Kirk.
Crathie Kirk is a Church of Scotland parish church in the Scottish
village of Crathie. It is a frequently a place of worship for The
Royal Family whilst they are in residence at Balmoral Castle.
The Duke of Edinburgh will also attend a church service of
commemoration, at Sandringham Church. The church is northwest of
Sandringham Estate. The Royal family attends services when in
residence at Sandringham, most recently during Christmas.
The Duke of Rothesay (as Prince Charles is known in Scotland) will
join a national service of remembrance for the Commonwealth in
Glasgow, followed by a wreath placing in George Square.
A Vigil of Prayer service at Westminster Abbey will be attended by
The Duchess of Cornwall.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend a service of
remembrance hosted by the Government of Belgium at Liege. William
and Catherine will later travel to St Symphorien Military Cemetery,
a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery in Mons, Belgium, for
a UK commemorative event.
The St Symphorien military cemetery is a First World War burial
ground in the Belgian province of Hainaut. It was established and
looked after by the German army from August 1914 until November
1918, when it given to the Allies. The cemetery contains the graves
of 229 Commonwealth servicemen and 284 German soldiers.
Prince Harry will attend the “Step Short” commemorative event in
Folkestone. He will then join The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at
St Symphorien Military Cemetery in Mons.
The Earl and Countess of Wessex will attend a service of
commemoration at Guildford Cathedral.The Cathedral Church of the
Holy Spirit, Guildford is the Anglican cathedral at Guildford,
Surrey and was designed by Sir Edward Maufe.
The Princess Royal will attend a service of commemoration at the
WWI memorial chapel in Carisbrooke Castle on the Isle of Wight. In
1919 The Chapel of St Nicholas in Carisbrooke Castle became the
Island War Memorial. It was completed in 1929. The memorial
contains 14 panels and lists the names of the 1624 who lost their
lives from the area in World War I.
The Duke of Kent will launch an exhibition of First World War
photography at an event sponsored by the Commonwealth War Graves
Commission and the Imperial War Museum.
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester will attend a service of
commemoration in Llandaff Cathedral in Cardiff.
