The colours of the union flag dominate the flowers at the Service of Thanksgiving for Prince Philip taking place at Westminster Abbey.
Predominantly red, white and blue blooms have been used in the arrangements at the Abbey.
Among the flowers chosen are orchids, which were used in The Queen’s wedding bouquet, and sea holly, to reflect Prince Philip’s long naval career.
The larger floral arrangements will feature red roses, red carnations and gerbera alongside blue agapanthus, delphinium and sea holly. The white flowers in these grand displays will be roses, Eustoma and large white chrysanthemums.
Smaller posies will feature red freesias, red spray roses and alstroemeria alongside blue irises and more sea holly. They will also include dendrobium orchids, white freesias and Eustoma.
The Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Prince Philip takes place at Westminster Abbey on March 29th 2022 at 11.30am. Royalty from around the world will join The Queen, her children and grandchildren in paying tribute to the Prince in the service.
