After her successful three-day trip to Morocco alongside husband, the Duke of Sussex, the Duchess of Sussex is said to have impressed Her Majesty The Queen with her energy and work ethic, especially at seven months pregnant.
To Vanity Fair, a source explained, “The Queen is amazed by the Duchess’s energy and stamina given that she is so heavily pregnant.
“For the Queen and her generation, you generally hid your bump and put your feet up in this stage of pregnancy, but Meghan hasn’t stopped.”
The same source added that Her Majesty might send the Duchess of Sussex, 37, a thank you letter for her work.
“There may well be a letter waiting for the Duke and Duchess when they return,” they said.
“She respects hard work and loyalty above everything.”
The Duchess recently returned from a short trip home to the United States where she was treated to a traditional American baby shower in New York City. Her close friend, Amal Clooney lent the Duchess her private jet to return to London on before heading out on the official visit to Morocco on behalf of the government.
The Duchess of Sussex’s next announced engagement is on 5 March for a reception hosted by Her Majesty to mark the 50th anniversary of Investiture of The Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.
This will be one of her final engagements before going on maternity leave. Her Royal Highness has revealed she is due at the end of April/beginning of May.
No announcements have yet been made regarding where she will give birth.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are due to relocate from Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor this spring when renovations are complete.
