Prime Minister Liz Truss sends her thoughts to The Queen following serious health concerns

The Prime Minister has sent her thoughts to The Queen and her family following news that the 96-year-old monarch’s health had deteriorated.

Liz Truss, who was only appointed to 10 Downing Street a couple of days ago, took to Twitter to share her thoughts,

The Prime Minister tweeted: “The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.

“My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.”

Leader of the Opposition, Sir Keir Starmer, tweeted: “Along with the rest of the country, I am deeply worried by the news from Buckingham Palace this afternoon.

“My thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time, and I join everyone across the United Kingdom in hoping for her recovery.”

Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland, said: “All of us are feeling profoundly concerned at reports of Her Majesty’s health.

“My thoughts and wishes are with the Queen and all of the Royal Family at this time.”

he Queen is resting at Balmoral where her medical team are ”concerned for her health”.

In a short statement, Buckingham Palace said that Her Majesty was comfortable but that her doctors have ”recommended she remain under medical supervision.”

The Queen, 96, was last seen two days ago when she appointed Liz Truss as the new UK Prime Minister.

In the past months, she has experienced mobility issues.

The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Cambridge have travelled up to Balmoral to be at The Queen’s side.
