King Harald sends condolences to Queen Elizabeth II

King Harald of Norway has sent his condolences to Queen Elizabeth II following the death of the Duke of Edinburgh today at the age of 99.

The King of Norway said: “Our thoughts are with Queen Elizabeth and the rest of her family. We also send our condolences to the British people.”

The flag at the Royal Palace in Oslo is now flying at half-mast today and will fly at half-mast on the day of the funeral in tribute.

The Norwegian Royal Family’s website has a tribute to the Duke on their page with several photos of Prince Philip with their family alongside their condolence message.

The Duke of Edinburgh died peacefully today at Windsor Castle. He was due to celebrate his 100th birthday in June.
