Princess Charlotte enjoys Trooping the Colour with the Duchess of Edinburgh

Princess Charlotte appeared to enjoy every moment of Trooping the Colour as she watched the parade from a balcony with the Duchess of Edinburgh.

The Princess of Wales, Colonel of the Irish Guards, was sitting on the dais on the parade ground with The Queen and the Duke of Kent, so it was great aunt Sophie who kept the youngsters of the Royal Family entertained during the ceremony.

Princess Charlotte chatted happily with her great aunt as they watched the Welsh Guards troop their colour at the first Sovereign’s Birthday Parade of the reign of King Charles III.

His Majesty took the salute on horseback, the first time a Monarch has ridden at the ceremony for over thirty years.

Charlotte rode to Horse Guards with her two siblings, Prince George and Prince Louis, along with The Queen and The Princess of Wales.

The Duchess of Edinburgh had arrived in a carriage with Sir Timothy Laurence.

However, as the Princess of Wales made her way to the dais, her children walked to the buildings next to the parade ground and to a balcony where the Duchess looked after them during the ceremony.

The whole Royal Family later appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for a special flypast celebrating the start of the reign of Charles III.
