Princess Beatrice’s old school makes special gift for her engagement

Princess Beatrice received a special congratulations on her recent engagement – her former prep school, Coworth Park School, sent her a card drawn and designed by its current students.

The school’s Twitter account posted photos of the card, a four-panel front featuring champagne glasses, Beatrice and Edoardo, hearts, and a giant diamond ring alongside Beatrice and Edoardo’s engagement photo released in September.

“We congratulate former pupil Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on their engagement! Current pupils at Coworth Flexlands put together a beautiful engagement card for the happy couple as we wish them the very best as they embark on married life together,” the Twitter caption read.

Beatrice attended Coworth Park School from 1995 to 2000 alongside her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, who received the same congratulations from the school when she became engaged in 2018. Pupils from the school were invited to attend Eugenie’s wedding.

Upon leaving Coworth Park School, she attended St. George’s School in Ascot from 2000 and completed her A levels in Drama, History and Film Studies and was also Head Girl in her final year. She then attended the University at Goldsmiths College, London and received her degree in History and the History of Ideas.

Beatrice and Edoardo announced their engagement on 26 September and said in a statement, “We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married. We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

Her parents, The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, said, “We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride. We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and loyal young man. We send them every good wish for a wonderful family future.”

Further details about their upcoming wedding, which will take place in 2020, will be announced in due course.
