Plane carrying Duke and Duchess of Cambridge forced to abort landing

A terrifying moment in the sky for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as the Royal Airforce plane carrying them and several royal reporters was forced to abort its landing in Islamabad during a fierce storm. The plane reportedly tried to land twice during intense lightning.

The plane carrying the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has returned to Lahore where it has landed safely.

The royal couple had spent the day in Lahore visiting SOS Children’s Villages where they helped celebrate the birthdays of Iman (12), Ibrahim (6), and Daniyal (8). The Duchess also read to the children. Their next stop was at the National Cricket Academy where they both showed their sporty side by joining a game.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also visited the Badshahi Mosque, in the heart of the Walled City. They toured the mosque and the courtyard and also joined a discussion with faith leaders to learn about how they are promoting interfaith harmony within their community. The Duchess of Cambridge also attended an unanticipated tiara event today in Lahore at the Shaukat Khanum Children’s Cancer Centre.

Their next stop would have been Islamabad but it is yet unclear if all engagements there will go ahead. The plane is reportedly refuelling and waiting for the storm to pass.
