Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh

The Chancellor of the Exchequer has made a very personal tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh following news of his death at the age of 99.

In a tweet, Rishi Sunak said ”For your humour and positivity, your years of military service, for all the young people you inspired and for the dedication to your duty, the whole nation thanks you.”

The focus on Prince Philip’s sense of fun as well as his devotion to duty came as politicians across the UK paid tribute to the Duke who died on the morning of April 9th 2021 at Windsor Castle.
