The Prince of Wales has revealed that The Queen “feels much better” after she was diagnosed with COVID-19 last month.

Speaking to crowds in Southend-on-sea, Prince Charles said that his mother had a mild bout of the virus, and is feeling better now.

As the Prince was speaking to the crowds in Southend, Her Majesty was simultaneously conducting a virtual audience at Windsor Castle – her first since she contracted coronavirus.

Her Majesty received Chad’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and Andorra’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

The Queen was diagnosed with COVID on February 20, and cancelled a number of events in her diary whilst she recovered.

She continued to undertake light duties at Windsor Castle, but virtual engagements and events were cancelled.

Prince Charles was in Southend-on-Sea to mark the town officially being granted city status.

As part of his visit, HRH delivered a speech and met the crowds of people who gathered in the street to celebrate the occasion.
