Prince Charles ‘deeply impressed’ with Amal Clooney

Amal Clooney has charmed Prince Charles, with the Prince of Wales saying he was ‘deeply impressed’ by her following an event held at Buckingham Palace last week.

The international human rights lawyer attended a dinner for the Prince’s Trust on Tuesday with her husband, American actor, George Clooney.

The couple, who were the guests of honour at the event, was pictured happily chatting with the prince and they looked to be sharing a joke.

Established in 1976, by Charles, the Prince’s Trust is a charity which aims to help vulnerable youths get their life back on track. Working with young people aged between 11 to 30 who are unemployed or struggling with education, the trust assists on average 60,000 people per year, with three in four moving on to employment, education, volunteering or training.

Prince Charles greeted other celebrity guests including actors Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Josh Hartnett, before dining with the Clooneys.

Amal, who attended Oxford University, is an international and human rights barrister at Doughty Street Chambers.

This is not the first royal event for George and Amal who attended the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Windsor last year.

Amal is also widely believed to have co-hosted Meghan’s glamorous New York baby shower in February, along with close friend Serena Williams.

George Clooney has also spoken publicly of his friendship with the Duchess of Sussex and his concern for her safety, likening her to her mother in law, Diana, Princess of Wales.

The Duchess of Sussex, who has made advocating for the rights of women, a key priority in her charitable work, is sure to have plenty in common in Amal and it would not be a surprise to see them join forces on a project in the future.
