Man arrested on suspicious of assault during The King’s walkabout in Luton

A man has been arrested on suspicion of common assault following an incident during a walkabout carried out by The King in Luton.

Bedfordshire Police say a man in his 20s has been arrested. It is believed that an egg was thrown in the direction of His Majesty.

The King is spending the day in Bedfordshire, starting at Luton Town Hall where he met community leaders and voluntary organisations.

He then visited the newly built Guru Nanak Gurdwara before concluding his day at Luton DART Parkway Station.

This is the second time somebody has thrown eggs at The King in recent weeks.

In November, a man was arrested in York after throwing eggs at the monarch as he arrived in the city.
