Prince Michael of Kent takes the reins as he competes at the Royal Windsor Horse Show

Prince Michael of Kent was amongst the many people to compete in the Royal Windsor Horse Show over the weekend.

The 81-year-old royal took part in the British Driving Society event, as did the Duchess of Edinburgh and Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor.

Prince Michael, who was a first cousin to the late Queen Elizabeth II, completed the four mile drive on board two Windsor Greys.

He received a commemorative rosette for completing the discipline on the final day of the equine event.

Prince Michael was amongst an array of Royal Family members to attend the Royal Windsor Horse Show this year.

This included The King who made sure to be present at the event his late mother loved so much.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh also attended, as did the Princess Royal and her family.

Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, as well as competing on the final day, also helped officiate the event.

The young royal was seen donning a high visibility jacket with a badge identifying her as an official.

From 1943 until her death in 2022, Queen Elizabeth II never missed the Royal Windsor Horse Show

Even in her final months, despite serious health issues, The late Queen attended the show to watch her highland pony take part in a competition.

Her Majesty’s horse won first prize, much to the delight of the crowd in attendance.

The four day show is held annual in the grounds of Windsor, with various members of The Royal Family visiting the event.
