Inquest to take place at Coroners’ Court following sudden death of Thomas Kingston

An inquest will take place into the unexpected death of Thomas Kingston, husband to Lady Gabriella Windsor.

As is standard practice in the UK, the Coroner has been informed of Mr Kingston’s death, with an inquest expected to take place in the coming months.

A coroner must hold an inquest if the cause of death is unknown.

Although Mr Kingston’s cause of death has not yet been established, it is understood there are no suspicious circumstances or third party involvement.

Mr Kingston, who has died at the age of 45, married Lady Gabriella Windsor, daughter of Prince & Princess Michael of Kent, in May 2019.

A statement from Mr Kingston’s immediate family reads: “Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing.”

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “The King and the Queen have been informed of Thomas’s death and join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all those who knew him in grieving a much-loved member of the family.

“In particular, Their Majesties send their most heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and to all the Kingston family.”
