Buckingham Palace has announced that the Duchess of Sussex has given birth to a baby boy weighing 7lbs 3oz.
Both mother and baby are doing well, with Prince Harry being by their side.
The baby boy, who will likely be styled as the Earl of Dumbarton, was born at 05:26am on Monday morning.
The royal baby’s name will be revealed within the next few days.
The child is 7th-in-line to the throne and is The Queen’s 8th great-grandchild.
It was Prince Harry himself who announced the news of his new arrival in an address to the media.
In full, the Duke said: “I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy this morning, a very healthy boy.”
“Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It has been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.
“How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.
“We are both thrilled and are so grateful to all of the love and support out from everybody out there.
“We are still thinking about names. The baby is a little bit overdue so we’ve had a little bit of time to think about it, but that’s the next bit.
“We will be seeing you guys in two days time as planned to everybody can see the baby.
“I haven’t been in many births, this is definitely my first birth.
“I am so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing
“This little thing is absolutely to die for – I am over the moon.”
