First big name for Platinum Party at the Palace confirmed

The first big star name for one of the showpiece events of the Platinum Jubilee weekend has been confirmed.

George Ezra will be among the names topping the bill at the Platinum Party at the Palace on June 4th 2022.

The star, whose hits include number one smash Shotgun, will take part in the celebration being staged by the BBC and broadcast live.

Confirmation of his appearance came as the ballot for tickets for the event got under way. It opened on February 24th 2022 at 7am and will remain open for a month. UK residents can enter, requesting up to 2 tickets per person. Anyone entering must be 18 or over. However, their guest can be 11 or over at the time of the concert. The Platinum Party at the Palace takes place during the Jubilee weekend celebrations which begin on June 2nd 2022 with Trooping the Colour and the lighting of the Jubilee beacons. On June 3rd 2022, there is a National Service of Thanksgiving for The Queen’s reign at St. Paul’s Cathedral. The final day of the weekend, June 5th 2022, sees the Royal Family attend the Platinum Pageant in London while millions are expected to take part in Jubilee lunches around the UK.
